What started out as just a summer job with a local builder back in 1985, turned into a career spanning 35 years…and counting! 

Owner and operator of Upton Project Management, Bernie Upton, first began in the construction industry crafting a trade in carpentry while working for a local builder. During that time, he honed his skills as a carpenter, learning to value quality of workmanship above all else. 

Knowing he also had a gift for organization and planning, Bernie set out on his own 15 years after starting that summer job, and Bernie Upton Construction was born. He continued operating on the belief that quality workmanship was to be expected and attained, every time, without exception. He built the reputation of his company on the quality of the work performed by himself and his crew, attention to detail, and his ability to plan and coordinate the many parts of a renovation or new build efficiently and smoothly, all the while ensuring that clients always remained up to date on the building process.

Over 60 builds and 16years later, an opportunity to help another local builder in the form of project managing, presented itself to Bernie, who was looking to hang up his tool belt without getting out of the industry he enjoyed completely. During his time at this position, Bernie learned to focus solely on his organizational skills and hone them to managing more projects at a time than what he would have taken on while operating as Bernie Upton Construction. 

While he enjoyed the opportunity his new position afforded, having spent so much time cultivating the relationships he had formed with clients and trades while operating Bernie Upton Construction, Bernie felt the familiar pull to run his own company, and founded Upton Project Management. 

Upton Project Management is the culmination of 35 years of experience in building, quality control, organization, planning, and longstanding partnerships with local trades whose workmanship meets the same high standards that Bernie has always expected of his own work.
